The Provincar dy Baocia was the ruler of the province of Baocia. He was the son of the dowager Provincara, brother of Ista, and uncle of Iselle.
In the Curse of Chalion, dy Baocia was one of Iselle's principal supporters in her struggle with Martou dy Jironal. When Iselle escaped from Valenda, it was to her uncle in Taryoon that she rode. In Paladin of Souls, he was part of the army that relieved Porifors, having quickly assembled five hundred of horse.
Dy Baocia was middle-aged, solid in appearance and had dun hair gone grizzled.
