Gotorget (Go-tor-get) was a much-contested fortress on the Chalion-Borasnen border, and commanded the mountain passes that lead to the port and capital city of Visping in Borasnen, one of the Roknari princedoms.
Two years before The Curse of Chalion, Cazaril was named commander of Gotorget by Martou dy Jironal and held it against besieging Roknari forces for nine months before being ordered to surrender to them. Prior to the events of Paladin of Souls, Gotorget was captured by Chalion-Ibra in a campaign led by Marshal dy Palliar.
